Christmas is coming!

Hello from Canada!

Im so happy to be home for the holidays, and so is my little one Rosalie. She's been having a great time meeting her family and taking naps with her Great Grandpa (nick named ggpa)

Its mighty cold here, when we landed on the 6th of December it was -40 with windchill! I didnt have a clue what to do with my poor baby and her face. It was a very fast paced walk to the car, thats all i can say.

We had a lovely day yesterday of +3, which lead to loads of melting, which lead to loads of sheer ice everywhere, sadly my Grandma had a fall and suffered a fractured pelvis. Thankfully it wasnt too bad and she's home now with us

As Christmas is coming up i thought i would share some pictures of some cards i got to make before leaving.

Church Craft Night!

Notebook fun!

This year for my church's craft night i designed a little notebook and pen holder.

I used the winter catalogues DSP (designer Series Paper) Season of Style and Winter Frost paper stacks as the inspiration for the size of book.

Here are some samples of the books i made. With great patience and tight rolling i managed to insert the matching DSP inside the pens and covered the binding of the notebooks as well.

A new favourite stamp set! Coffee Time!

Coffee Time!

This has to be my new favourite stamps set 'Perfect Blend'. Its a cute little stamp set perfect for a thank you card or an invite to just spend time with a friend.

I made these cards so that i could get to know my neighbours a little better and invite them round for a drink.

The cup warmer was made using the Burlap Ribbon from the winter catalogue. Its perfect for adding texture and dimension to the cards.

Card Class Thursday 7th November

Yay, its card class time again! After taking some time off to have my baby girl I am now happy to say that card classes are back on! We'll be kicking off with some Christmas cards next Thursday!

We will be making 3 cards in total, class will start at 7pm and will cost £7.00 to cover all the supplies.

One of the cards we will make is this little gem!

Please let me know if you plan to come so i can reserve a place for you. I can take a maximum of 8 people so please let me know quick!

Christmas Continued

As promised here are a few more cards i made for Christmas:

This card is made again using the 'Lovely as a tree' stampset and embossing it onto whisper white card stock.

I then stamped 'En Francais' as the background and used a sponge dauber to add a bit of colour.

After that I used a tissue and wiped off any excess ink collected over the embossed area to leave the tree white.

This Card was a simple design, great for using up scraps of card stock and paper.

THis next card is a great card to make if you dont have any DSP to match card stock or you dont want to spend too much money on too many supplies.

I used 1 stamp set 'Festive Furry" and 2 colours of ink for the snow flakes and created my own background.
The middle boarder was just a scrap piece of plain card stock that matched the snow flake ink, and the top part was just from trimming down the back ground i created.

Add some bling and a sentiment and its finished!

Christmas is coming!

As Christmas is just around the corner i thought i would get a head start and try out some card samples.

This first card is a fun play copying the design from within the winter catalogue found on page 9. It looks a little wrinkled as i sadly spilt my coffee on it :( Its also still missing the sentiment but i just couldn't make up my mind of what i wanted on it.

The Stamp is from the 'Lovely as a tree' set in the main catalogue. Its one of the most versatile stamps sets and definitely in my top 5 favourites

This next card is one of my new favourites. I found out after i made it i could have just easily googled some measurements, but never mind. This card took me a good hour to make and several bits of scrap paper to get it looking exactly as i liked it.

I used 'Snowflake Soiree' From last years catalogue which is excitingly on sale in the %25 off sale! Click here to see it, its on page 7.

I also used one of my other favourite stamp sets 'En Francais' as the background.

Sadly I hadnt yet bought my new framelets 'Festive Flurry' (page 30 of the Winter catalogue) so i had to make do with last years big shot die for the snow flakes

Stay tuned in the next day or 2 for some more cards!

New Life

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry its been so long since my last post. Most of you following this blog know that we were expecting a new family member.
Im so proud and happy to announce that Rosalie Evelyn Reade was born at 6.17pm on 14th September.

We are so so happy and in love. Unfortunately for my craft business this has meant i have been a bit MIA.

Stay tuned though, I will be posting photos of some Christmas cards and projects that ive been working on in the next day.

Journal Tutorial

Hi everyone,
Well since doing an inspiration station at my latest Stampin Up training, ive been asked by quite a few people for a tutorial of my home made journals using recycled packing paper.

(Here it is with the closure)

(Here it is without the closure)

As im not very technical ive had to create a PDF and post a link rather than posting the tutorial on my blog directly. I really hope you enjoy it and find it useful, any feed back would be hugely appreciated as this is my first ever tutorial. It took me 3 hours to put together(Adding watermarks took ages!)

If you would like to view my tutorial please click here.

All the best,
Happy crafting
